Job Title: Audit Supervisor

Reports To: Manager(s), Partner(s)

Summary: The Audit Supervisor will work with the audit team to plan engagement objectives and audit strategy. The Audit Supervisor will interact with members of the team at all levels and will also interact with client personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mentor, supervise and train staff and seniors through counsel, guidance and coaching; evaluate performance and participate in individuals’ performance appraisal process
  • Cultivate effective relationships with clients to provide superior client service
  • Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based upon knowledge gained relative to the client’s operations, processes, and business objectives
  • Lead client audit, review, and compilation engagements, including planning, executing, directing and completing financial audits
  • Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statement presentation
  • Delegate work as appropriate and hold staff and seniors accountable 
  • Travel Required – 25% of total yearly hours with up to 8 weeks during busy season
  • In-charge multiple complex audits and 401ks (proactive project management- from beginning to end; completing projects on time and on budget;  focus on training and providing opportunities for staff to learn and develop)
  • Technical competency: technically proficient in moderate to complex GASB/FASB requirements, including the ability to research and provide solutions

Personal and Professional Development:

  • Diligently working towards CPA licensure if not already licensed
  • Invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events both internally and externally
  • Support Firm initiatives
  • Work with Partners to identify and maintain strategic goals of the department and firm


  • Attained Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university
  • Three years related experience and / or training
  • Ability to show strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Solid understanding of industry specific audit issues
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills

Supervisory Responsibilities: 
Manages Senior Audit Associates and Audit Associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
